The little Iltis was originally a VW/Audi design that was built under licence by Bombardier for the Canadian military and also for the Belgians. In typically bizarre Canadian military procurement fashion, Bombardier charged the Canadian military around $60,000 Canadian for their machines, and then sold the Belgians theirs for around $38,000 each. This neat little bus was spotted at the Queensland Military Jeep Owners' swap meet at Laidley in 2024.
